VALID+ Catalogue


A VALID environment can be realized in several different ways for an organization, whereby AmicoServices uses the following two concepts;

  • In Company. A VALID environment is set up within an organizations own technical infrastructure. This offers the organization the freedom to control all aspects of the environment themselves and the VALID environment is available on the organizations own intranet. This also removes limitations on the number of user accounts and available storage space. The following software should be present on the organizations technical infrastructure to implement VALID;
    o Microsoft Windows Server 2003 (Standard, Enterprise, Datacenter or Web Edition) including Service pack 1 or higher and including the Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0 / 3.0;
    o Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) version 6.0;
    o Microsoft SQL Server 2000 including Service pack 3 or higher or Microsoft SQL Server 2005;
    o Microsoft SharePoint Services 3.0 (SharePoint Portal 2007).
  • Web Hosting. The setup and care for the VALID technical infrastructure is placed outside of the organization (web hosting). The VALID environment will only be accessible through the internet and subject to additional costs for user accounts and storage space on top of the Basic package (see costs).

Package composition
The following overview shows how VALID is put together. The Basic package is displayed in green;


The Basic package, consisting of an AMC Portal and Asset Management Portals, can be expanded with Installation Management Portals and Team Management Portals, Process Control Tools and Asset Control Tools.

  • The AMC Portal is the starting point for VALID and contains general information about Assets. From this AMC Portal a user can continue on to Asset Management Portals (and Installation Management, Team Management and Process Control depending on the purchased expansions).
  • Asset Management involves the gathering and managing of information involving an Asset (like a ship or wind turbine installation) in an Asset Portal. Assets can be grouped (by ship class or wind turbine parks) into Asset group Portals. The Asset Management section can be expanded using the System Cost Effectiveness Indicator (SCEI) and AMICO Asset Control Tools.
  • Installation Management involves the gathering and managing of Installations within an Asset or group of Assets. These installations can range from ship sensors to wind turbine components. Installation Management Portals are the ideal location for documentation like maintenance reports or planning.
  • Team Management can come in many forms. For instance Team Portals, which can be used by specialized teams to exchange information or Project Portals that multiple teams can use for Project Management. It is also possible to use Study Portals for employee training.
  • Process Control is used in conjunction with VALID to manage organizational processes and to identify possible areas of improvement in Asset Management Processes. Process Control consists of the PRIMA Web Application and the P3 Portal.
    o PRIMA is a readymade Web Application to evaluate organizational processes and to improve these processes if possible. A User/Manager only has to supply organizational-specific data and PRIMA will take care of the rest, like computational models and specific links to process information/procedures to be used as data sources.
    o The P3 Portal offers a standardized method of recording and managing company processes and allows for links to be made with process descriptions and documentation (floor plans, system information) etc. It also offers the possibility to expand on accepted standards and laws.

Support Contracts
AmicoServices and her partners offer support and training in the use of VALID. Support is offered based on Service Level Agreements (SLA). The following levels of support are available for VALID;

  • Basic: up to 4 hours of support* a month. Valid up to a maximum of 25 users.
  • Extended: up to 8 hours of support* a month. Valid up to a maximum of 50 users.
  • Complete: up to 16 hours of support* a month. No maximum user limit.

*Support is viewed as user account management and general helpdesk support.

When exceeding the maximum available hours of support additional costs will be billed. Training in the use of VALID and Microsoft SharePoint 2007 is done by AmicoServices partners and these partners maintain their own pricing which can be made available upon request.

Costs
The VALID Basic Package contains the AMC Portal, Asset Management Portals, the Basic Support contract and the initial installation and configuration of the environment.
